Job Description - Assistant Manager - VX Product Owner (MER0003Q91)

Description

We are a young and dynamic team developing the sales process of the future with a focus on an integrated IT landscape to provide magic moments and the best customer experience.

Our main task is to design & rollout the Sales & Business Process Blueprint while taking ownership of the strategic development of our IT systems for Mercedes-Benz Cars across overseas regions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic member to support the blueprint definition and development of VX – an enrichment middle layer for all vehicle data at Mercedes-Benz. You will be responsible for key product ownership tasks such as writing user stories, consulting with the development team, and aligning with markets and business stakeholders, focusing on integrating front-end solutions with middleware and foundational systems.

Additionally, you will work with the Process Manager to define an optimized Sales Process Blueprint and Roadmap aligned with the company's strategic goals to ensure target landscape adherence.

Main Tasks:

  • Product ownership of VX and related middle layer products.
  • Lead the development and rollout of products and features enabling omnichannel platforms by collaborating with engineers and business teams.
  • Ensure system and data integration, especially middleware connecting retail front-end systems and foundation systems in cooperation with IT.
  • Enhance vehicle and related data to meet business objectives.
  • Maintain data integrity and compliance for reporting.
  • Create quarterly product increment roadmaps and delivery plans aligned with markets and HQ.
  • Develop sales process and system blueprints to enable automation and standardization across regions.
  • Align new initiatives, epics, features, and stories with solution landscape, processes, and timelines.
  • Develop initiatives and stories at program and team levels for better collaboration.
  • Collaborate with global teams and market units for smooth execution of initiatives.
  • Support evaluation of market requests for process and system changes.
  • Provide consultancy and support in retail digitalization.
  • Establish governance around system utilization and key performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or Information Management Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in product ownership and process improvement.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Interpersonal skills with ability to present technical content to non-technical audiences.
  • Goal-oriented with accountability for outcomes.
  • Experience in the automotive industry/retail preferred.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM & SAFE) preferred.
  • Motivated, independent worker with minimal guidance.
  • Leadership experience desirable.
  • Strong analytical and abstraction skills.
  • Ability to work in an international and intercultural environment.
  • Multilingual abilities are an advantage.
