[What the role is]
The Education & Community Outreach (ECO) division under the National Heritage Board (NHB) promotes awareness and engagement with heritage among Singaporeans. The successful candidate will be part of a team that oversees NHB’s efforts to engender volunteerism in the heritage sector.[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:
Support the division in the sourcing, development and maintenance of a Volunteer Management System for the NHB.
Facilitate and co-ordinate the development and maintenance an up-to-date volunteer database and record-keeping system through NHB’s Volunteer Management System
Develop and implement new award scheme aimed at recognising active citizenry in the heritage sector
Support NHB’s volunteer engagement initiatives/programmes, which include developing and implementing strategies to create meaningful volunteering opportunities that meets both NHB’s and volunteers’ needs, and growing ad-hoc volunteerism
Manage and administer volunteer processes for NHB, including the processing of volunteer registrations, tracking and reporting on the fulfilment of volunteering opportunities, overseeing compliance with volunteer Codes of Conduct, organising volunteer engagement and appreciation sessions etc.
Recruit, train and manage volunteers to assist in the delivery of online and onsite programmes/events
Strengthen volunteer capabilities initiatives such as training workshops, programmes, engagement activities and sharing sessions
Assist in the planning and implementation of events such as appreciation event for volunteers, internal workgroup COP sessions and research projects, as required

Background in History, Social Science, and Social Work preferred.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, but prior experience in volunteering with organisations on community programmes, and familiarity with Volunteer Management Systems, will be an advantage.
Possess excellent partnership and relationship development, presentation and project management skills. Able to engage with stakeholder in both the heritage and non-heritage industries.
Proactive and resourceful, willing to be on the move and work in a fast-paced environment.
Independent and able to multi-task, while being a team player.
Successful candidates will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
