Assistant Manager, Venue Operations (OCBC Aquatic Centre)

As part of the OCBC Aquatic Centre team and reporting to the Venue Lead, the Assistant Manager/Manager will support the establishment, day-to-day, and event operations of the leading sports and leisure facilities. Working closely with stakeholders, partners, and the community at large, the successful candidate will collaborate with management to deliver smooth operations.

Support venue events and daily operational matters, including:

  1. Deliver highly professional service to hirers, internal partners, and colleagues.
  2. Maintain an efficient, meticulous, and methodical approach to work within a team environment.
  3. Utilize applications such as EBMS and other relevant systems.
  4. Keep all internal stakeholders informed of event details.
  5. Perform operational administration tasks as required by management.
  6. Handle other tasks and responsibilities that may evolve within the job scope.
  7. Work closely with promoters/hirers to understand their needs and the nature of their events, providing support and clear communication to ensure successful event delivery for both the Sports Hub and the clients.
  8. Assist the Venue Lead with venue operations plans and venue handover exercises, ensuring coordination with various partners.
  9. Develop and review operational and service checklists with the venue lead, ensuring thorough completion and attention to service quality and continuous improvement.
  10. Manage all relevant commercial obligations to maximize value for Sports Hub and clients.
  11. Effectively manage all staff within the department, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  12. Coordinate with the facilities management team to ensure venue readiness for events, including regular checks on cleanliness and maintenance to meet contractual KPIs.
  13. Review and update venue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with the venue lead.
  14. Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as Events and Hospitality Management or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment, with a proven track record of managing projects, events, or venues successfully.
  3. Experience in leading teams is highly desirable.
