Job description

The Assistant Manager, Technical responsible in leading the technical coordination and design management aspects of construction projects.

  • Lead the conceptual and detailed design of cleanroom environments including HVAC, filtration, pressurization, airflow patterns, and contamination control strategies
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical & electrical, architectural and process engineers
  • Review and approve design specifications, equipment selections, and technical submittal
  • Manage risk and ensure constructability in design decisions for cleanroom systems
  • Manage commissioning plans, protocols, and schedules to ensure timely system startup and qualification
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during commissioning and work closely with construction and QA/QC teams to resolve them
  • Document commissioning results, prepare as-built records, and lead final turnover packages
  • Oversee installation, functional testing, and system verification of cleanroom-related systems (e.g., HVAC, automation, clean utilities)
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to align design and commissioning strategies with project goals
  • Lead system handover process, including performance validation and client sign-off
  • Support construction and procurement teams with technical input and engineering clarifications
  • Ensure compliance with ISO cleanroom classifications (ISO 14644), cGMP, and other industry standards

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with minimum 5 years’ relevant working experience in high-tech or regulated environments such as semiconductor or pharmaceutical facilities within a construction or engineering consultancy environment
  • In-depth knowledge of cleanroom standards, HVAC systems, commissioning best practices, and contamination control
  • Strong command in project review software (e.g., AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks) will be added advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of cleanroom standards, HVAC systems, commissioning best practices, and contamination control
  • Must be able to communicate in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates
