Job description

The Assistant Manager, Technical responsible in leading the technical coordination and design management aspects of construction projects.


  • Lead and manage a team of Design/Coordination Engineers in coordinating design drawings with consultants that complies with authorities regulations and project specifications.
  • Act as the key liaison between consultants, clients, contractors, and authorities on all design-related matters.
  • Guide the team in preparing technical submissions such as shop drawings, materials approval, and method statements for construction.
  • Coordinate and track submission processes to local authorities to ensure compliance and approvals.
  • Take the lead in resolving design and technical issues encountered during construction by liaising effectively with Architectural and M&E teams, consultants, and relevant authorities to ensure resolution.
  • Review and address technical queries by raising Requests for Approval (RFA) and Requests for Information (RFI) to respective parties for design clarification.
  • Initiate and evaluate value engineering proposals that enhance project delivery in terms of cost-effectiveness, safety, constructability, and quality.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering with minimum 6 years’ relevant working experience within a construction or engineering consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes, authority regulations, and construction methodologies
  • Independent, analytical, highly motivated with excellent team spirit and interpersonal skills
  • Candidates with 'Design for Safety for Professionals' certification will be added advantage
