Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has launched the “Care, Serve, Learn” (CSL) initiative as a compulsory, credit-bearing course series for all undergraduates admitted from Academic Year 2025 onwards. Integrated into the Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core (ICC) curriculum, CSL bridges academic learning with meaningful community service, aiming to cultivate socially responsible, empathetic, and civically engaged graduates. Through structured training, hands-on service with partner organizations, individual and team-based reflective learning, students develop vital skills such as active listening, advocacy, and project management. The initiative builds on NTU’s strong culture of volunteerism and reflects a broader educational vision that blends intellectual growth with real-world impact. The new initiative will be managed by the new CSL office.
Role Overview:
The role of the Assistant Manager is to assist in the development, implementation and administration of the CSL course series. The role requires close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the CSL initiative’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Programme Leadership & Execution
Lead the development and implementation of the CSL course series.
Ensure alignment of the CSL initiative with the vision of NTU undergraduate Education, focusing on experiential learning, students’ professional and personal development, and community/social service and impact.
2. Stakeholder & Community Engagement
Engage with alumni and donors to foster long-term involvement in, and support for, CSL requirements.
3. Impact Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Monitor CSL implementation effectiveness through data collection, analysis, and stakeholder feedback, making improvements where necessary.
Propose enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the conduct of CSL course series.
4. Collaboration & Integration with Team
Work closely with the CSL team members and both internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of CSL requirements into the broader academic program structure and requirements.
Foster alignment across all undergraduate initiatives, ensuring cohesion and maximizing impact through collaborative efforts in stakeholder engagement and CSL course conduct.
Requirements:
A Bachelor or Masters degree in education, social sciences, business, or a related field.
5-6 years of relevant experience in programme management, community service and engagement, or experiential learning.
Resourceful and demonstrate strong work prioritization, stakeholder management, event planning and analytical skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement to engage government agencies, non-profit orgnizations, donors, and alumni to drive collaboration, support and funding opportunities.
Prior experience in higher education or social impact projects is a plus.
Adept in both strategic planning and on-the-ground execution of initiatives.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
Commitment to empowering students through experiential learning, professional development, and impactful community service.
Experience in managing programme budgets, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring financial sustainability of service-learning and fundraising initiatives.
