Job summary

National University Health System (NUHS) seeks a senior professional to support the Sustainability Office in driving the NUHS Green Plan and advancing environmental sustainability across NUH redevelopment and other NUHS infrastructure projects.

The incumbent will collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement carbon reduction strategies and sustainability measures, contributing to healthcare sustainability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant degrees.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably with sustainable design experience.
• Healthcare background and familiarity with sustainability issues are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the NUH redevelopment DevSec team in electrical system design and tender documents, including specifications, environmental requirements, cost estimates, scope of work, and BOQ; review and evaluate variations/claims.
• Oversee consultants, site staff, and contractors in implementation, inspection, testing, and commissioning of M&E systems to meet sustainability performance requirements.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, Project Owner, Facilities Management, and other stakeholders.
• Sustainability analytics: synthesize data and reports submitted by taskforces; draft summary documents and presentations.
• Conduct sustainability research, identify pilot initiatives, and maintain records of sustainability projects.
• Develop document templates, surveys, guidelines, and policy documents relevant to Sustainability Office.

The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders to implement carbon reduction strategies and sustainability measures across the organisation.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to making a meaningful impact in healthcare sustainability within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

As part of a lean team exploring new frontiers in sustainability, the incumbent should be prepared to take on diverse responsibilities based on organisational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Engineering:

• Provide support to the NUH redevelopment DevSec team in the preparation of project related electrical system design and tender documents (including specifications, environmental requirements, cost estimates, scope of work, BOQ, etc.) and the review and evaluation of variations and/or contractual claims, where required.
• Oversee consultants, site staff and contractors in implementation, inspection, and testing and commissioning of M&E systems, to ensure that they meet sustainability performance requirements.
• Coordinate and collaborate with various stake holders such as Project Manager, Project Owner, Facilities Management, etc.

Sustainability Programme Analytics

• Assist in the synthesis of data and reports submitted by taskforces, and drafting summary documents and presentation
• Execute sustainability research works, identify pilot initiatives and maintain proper documentation records of sustainability projects
• Assist in developing document templates, surveys, guidelines, and policy documents relevant to Sustainability office

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant degrees
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably with sustainable design experience.
• Candidates with healthcare background highly preferred and familiarity with sustainability issues, all scopes of GHG assessments carbon regulation, frameworks, standards or environmental sustainability policies and guidelines will be added advantage
• Team player with good interpersonal, communication skills to collaborate and manage with various Stakeholders.
• Good time management on tasks allocated, resourceful, self-motivated, driven with the ability to multi-tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
