Assistant Manager – Seafreight Operations

Our client - A trusted name in logistics and freight forwarding, is seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager to support their expanding operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director and lead a dynamic team in the sea freight division.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage end-to-end sea freight operations for both import and export shipments.
2. Ensure accurate and timely processing of all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
3. Navigate and ensure compliance with relevant permit regulations and requirements in Singapore and internationally.
4. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5 to 10 team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
5. Liaise effectively with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient cargo movement.
6. Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in sea freight.
7. Prepare reports and provide updates to the Managing Director on operational performance and team activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. At least Diploma in Logistics, maritime or other relevant course.
2. Proven experience in sea freight operations (import and export) is essential.
3. Strong knowledge of shipping documentation processes and permit requirements in Singapore.
4. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team.
5. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
