Job description

Our client - A trusted name in logistics and freight forwarding, is seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager to support their expanding operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director and lead a dynamic team in the sea freight division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage end-to-end sea freight operations for both import and export shipments.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.

  • Navigate and ensure compliance with relevant permit regulations and requirements in Singapore and internationally.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5 to 10 team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

  • Liaise effectively with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient cargo movement.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in sea freight.

  • Prepare reports and provide updates to the Managing Director on operational performance and team activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least Diploma in Logistics, maritime or other relevant course.

  • Proven experience in sea freight operations (import and export) is essential.

  • Strong knowledge of shipping documentation processes and permit requirements in Singapore.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
