JOB DESCRIPTION


1. Leadership and Management

  • Identify and analyse future trends and strategic issues in relation to youth mental health, and develop the department strategy and annual workplans
  • Participate in interagency workplan meetings targeting nation-wide youth mental health strategic plans
  • Support the implementation of the SAMH Board/Executive vision and directions, and cascade them to the team
  • Monitor execution of the department workplans and lead the reporting process
  • Ensure integrity and accountability of KPIs and ensure timely reporting to funders
  • Ensure regular communication and feedback with funders, management and team
  • Oversee and plan annual budget utilizations and inventories
  • Plan and review manpower requirements and career progression for staff
  • Oversee centre operations, manpower deployment and movement
  • Oversee monthly team meetings

2. Client Management

  • Have good understanding and knowledge of Singapore’s social service sector
  • Take ownership of clinical practice and development
  • Provide individualised, comprehensive, community-based services and support to youth and their families
  • Implement case management service model in working with youth and their families
  • Conduct intake assessment for youth referred to the centre
  • Formulate individualised and family care plans
  • Assist family in crisis management and safety planning
  • Work closely with families, schools and hospitals and job places in care coordination and participate in case conferences
  • Work with families to improve knowledge of mental health issues and ability to handle crisis/relapse
  • Provide counselling and support to youth with emotional, or psychological difficulties
  • Ensure that all clinical forms and case recordings are up to date.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate group workshops (centre-based and external)
  • Report any unethical/illegal practice.

3. Supervision

  • On a monthly basis, discuss with supervisor regarding the workplans and progress of the centre
  • To provide individual supervision to team members
  • To provide group supervision or facilitate case discussions among the team
  • To supervise, coach or guide team members when necessary

4. Outreach and Engagements

  • Present and advocate SAMH and SAMH C’SAY CREST-YOUTH’s services and objectives to funders, schools, hospitals, community partners and other stakeholders in centre and off-site
  • Represent SAMH and SAMH C’SAY CREST-YOUTH’s in conferences, talks and workshops delivery to schools, hospitals, community partners, to promote awareness of mental health and wellbeing among youths
  • Represent SAMH professionally through the participation of association-lead events and engagements
  • Foster collaboration across internal SAMH centres and external agencies in developing forward-looking programmes and initiatives to meet desired goals

5. Others

  • To perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Director due to exigencies of services.
  • This role may require you to be present for management and network meetings.
  • To ensure and established a healthy and cohesive working culture within the team.
  • To attend any network meetings when necessary and to cultivate collaboration or partnership when opportunity arises.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum a degree or Masters in Psychology/ Social Work or related discipline
  • Minimum 6-8 years in social service (preferably youth work), with 3 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Background in youth work, programme management, learning and people development, social work or service, psychology, case management experience is an advantage.
  • Possess good understanding of or experience working with persons with mental health issues.
  • Possess good knowledge of assessment tools and clinical intervention skills
  • Prior leadership experience in managing a team
  • Strong collaborative and partnership skills
