Job description

Responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of public and school programs—including tours, artist residencies, and corporate/school group bookings—centred around the Museum’s collections, exhibitions, and events. This role focuses on growing and engaging diverse audiences while overseeing volunteer management to enhance visitor experiences, while work closely with the HQ marketing and development teams to strengthen community outreach and public engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Lead the planning, resource allocation, and implementation of festivals, programs, and public engagement initiatives.

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow and diversify audiences through targeted outreach and programming.

  • Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement to support programs and events.

  • Foster collaborations with internal teams, external stakeholders, and community partners to enhance program impact.

  • Manage program logistics, including budgeting, scheduling, and administrative processes.

  • Research industry trends to innovate and enhance programming across physical and digital platforms.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness through audience surveys and data analysis to inform future strategies.

  • Coordinate with operations staff to prepare event venues, secure necessary approvals, and maintain site readiness.

Job Requirement :

  • Degree or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in events management, festival programming, public development, or a related field. Experience in coaching, teaching, or training is a plus.

  • Passion for Singapore’s history, museums, and the local arts and culture scene.

  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written English) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse communities and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

  • A collaborative team player with a service-oriented mindset who enjoys engaging with people.
