A leading company in the global shipping industry is seeking a Payroll & HR Operations Assistant Manager in Singapore. This role is crucial for overseeing payroll functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a team towards operational excellence. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Operations Assistant Manager for one of our global shipping clients. The role oversees end-to-end payroll operations, drives compliance with local regulations, and leads system enhancements. The ideal candidate should have at least 6 years of payroll experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role, with expertise in HR systems and expatriate payroll. Strong knowledge of Singapore payroll laws, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring precision and adherence to monthly and annual payroll cycles.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and regional HRIS teams to ensure streamlined processes and data integrity.
Develop, document, and refine robust operational procedures across all payroll functions.
Manage and maintain productive relationships with key external partners, including auditors, tax authorities, and HRIS stakeholders.
Lead system enhancement initiatives, including overseeing payroll system upgrades, driving User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Mentor and support the operations team by providing clear guidance, ongoing training, and fostering professional growth.
Qualifications:
· Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field.
· At least 6 years of strong payroll experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a regional or global HQ setting.
· Proven expertise in end-to-end payroll operations, including expatriate payroll management.
· Proficient in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), Google Suite, and MS Excel.
· Solid understanding of Singapore payroll regulations, including CPF and tax laws.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels.
· Meticulous, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy.
