Assistant Manager, Operations

IETA advocates for trading systems for emissions reductions and removals that are environmentally robust, fair, open, efficient, accountable and consistent across national boundaries. Representing more than 300 leading international organisations, IETA is a trusted partner in developing international policies and market frameworks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the lowest cost while building a credible path to net zero emissions.

On June 7, 2023, IETA opened its Singapore office to serve as the regional hub for IETA activities and a valuable resource for carbon market professionals in the Asia Pacific region. To support its continued growth, IETA is recruiting an Assistant Manager, Operations to join its team in Singapore.

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager, Operations to support the internal and external operational functions of IETA’s Singapore office. This role will be responsible for managing administrative and financial processes, coordinating grants, and supporting the successful delivery of key IETA initiatives and events. The ideal candidate is a well-organized multitasker with a passion for operational excellence and for delivering high-quality execution in public-facing activities within a dynamic, international environment.

Responsibilities
Internal Operations & Finance Coordination
  • Support the day-to-day operational management of the Singapore office, including managing all general administrative tasks, ensuring smooth internal workflows
  • Oversee financial coordination, including liaising with the external accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting processes, monitoring expenditure, managing payments and invoicing, and maintaining proper documentation and organization of financial records.
  • Manage grants administration, including preparing and submitting grant reports and claims
Event and Programme Coordination
  • Lead the coordination and implementation of key IETA initiatives—including co-led programmes such as the Singapore Carbon Market Alliance (SCMA), strategic projects with external partners, and selected IETA-led events—through close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Other Responsibilities
  • Assist with other duties and tasks as required to support operational and strategic goals.


Requirements
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in operations, finance, administration, or event/project management.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams involving both internal functions and external programs, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills to ensure effective coordination and execution.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Teams; familiarity with financial processes is required.
  • Demonstrates a proactive mentality, responsibility, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and autonomously, as part of a small team.
  • Experience reviewing financial documents and contributing to process improvements is an advantage.
