Job Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Liaise with various departments to communicate and implement all aspects of safety, contractor management and relevant regulatory compliance matters. Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure adherence to statutory requirements and industry standards, and promote a safe environment for guests, team members, and contractors within RWS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain document control standards for Safety & Emergency Planning documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant statutory requirements, ISO 45001, industry standards, and Resort World Sentosa policies; oversee contractor management.
  • Maintain a robust Incident Reporting System, including investigation, recording, follow-ups, and implementing improvements using established IT systems and procedures. Perform statutory incident reporting to authorities as mandated by law. Use the IR System to help reduce and prevent incidents within RWS.
  • Develop and implement Workplace Safety and Health programs, conduct safety inspections and audits, monitor and track safety statistics, and work closely with RWS departments to ensure timely reporting and recording of safety incidents to prevent work injuries.
  • Develop fire safety initiatives, conduct inspections, provide training and promotion of fire safety, offer fire safety advisories, and engage with fire authorities (SCDF) for joint inspections and exercises to reduce fire risks.
  • Collaborate with RWS departments to develop and execute emergency action plans, conduct exercises to familiarize staff, and validate emergency procedures.
  • Recommend solutions, design programs, and implement projects to improve safety and operational results across the property by researching new technologies and industry standards related to safety and accessibility.
Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree with 3-5 years of operational experience and at least 2 years of managerial experience.
  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
  • Preferably a Certified Fire Safety Manager with at least 3 years of practice.

Skills:

  • 3-5 years' experience interpreting laws, regulations, and standards, ensuring business compliance; or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3-5 years' operational safety experience in any industry, capable of managing contractor programs and delivering presentations.
  • Experience in managing ISO 45001 is advantageous.
