Job Description

As part of the Communications team within the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), you will play a key role in building a strong and cohesive communications ecosystem that enhances student engagement and supports the visibility of OSA's programmes, initiatives, and services.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic communications

  • Develop and implement communication strategies and content plans to support OSA's goals, including student residential life, hostel admission, student accessibility among others.

  • Shape and execute messaging for key events/campaigns such as Freshmen orientation programme, NUSSU Student Life Fair that speak to NUS students and the wider community through compelling storytelling across various channels.

  • Lead and manage content calendars aligned with university-wide narratives and the OSA comms calendar.

Digital content creation and channel management

  • Lead content creation for OSA's digital platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, Podcasts.

  • Produce, organize and schedule multimedia content (visuals, videos, written stories) using tools such as Canva and relevant MarTech tools.

  • Oversee regular day-to-day updates, and planned enhancements to OSA's websites (corporate and hostel child-sites), microsites and intranet (SharePoint).

Stakeholder engagement and advisory

  • Work closely with internal teams to provide communication guidance and creative direction tailored to each unit's initiatives including translating needs into communication deliverables, ensuring messages resonate with students.

  • Provide best practices, and support events and outreach efforts.

Asset Management

  • Oversee the OSA Digital Asset Management (DAM) and Knowledge Management systems to ensure brand consistency and ease of access to digital materials.

  • Maintain and support in the segmentation of mailing/distribution lists for internal and external communications.

  • Monitor analytics and reporting tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Brandwatch) to assess campaign impact and inform improvements.

Administrative, event and project support

  • Provide administrative support including vendor management, procurement. and finance-related documentation.

  • Maintain communication SOPs and documentation for training and succession planning.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring creativity, structure, and a collaborative mindset to the role.

  • A recognized bachelor's degree in mass communication, media studies, public relations, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in communications, content creation, website maintenance, campaign execution, and administrative support within a corporate, youth or higher education setting.

  • Comfortable both in front of and behind the camera - whether it's hosting, interviewing, or directing content shoots.

  • Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms, with a keen sense of emerging trends and how to translate them into meaningful engagement and activation strategies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for creating audience-centric narratives across platforms.

  • Hands-on experience managing websites and intranet platforms, Familiarity with both CMS - WordPress, and SiteFinity is a must. SharePoint (preferably in an admin capacity) is a bonus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with third-party MarTech and MarComms tools such as Google Analytics, Canva, Brandwatch, and other content creation and performance tracking tools.

  • Meticulous, organised, and comfortable working across multiple projects with tight deadlines and modest budgets.

  • Positive, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable engaging with stakeholders across all levels.

  • Adaptable, open to experimentation, and able to respond flexibly to changing needs or challenges.
