The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIE) at Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) is responsible for protecting and commercialising inventions made by Duke-NUS researchers, managing collaborations and relationships with other organisations that may result in new products or services that impact patients and communities, and building an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC).
The Duke-NUS Health Innovator Programme (D-HIP) is a unique, nine-month fellowship designed to nurture and empower aspiring healthcare innovators. Fellows work in multidisciplinary teams - comprising medical, engineering, and business students - to tackle critical unmet clinical needs, closely guided by experienced industry and clinical mentors. The Fellows map patient journeys, analyse market conditions, and develop cutting-edge solutions that could transform healthcare practices. D-HIP offers an immersive experience that combines education, hands-on project development, and venture-building opportunities.
We are seeking a highly motivated Programme Manager to proactively lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Duke-NUS' flagship innovation education programme, D-HIP. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to nurturing the next generation of health innovators, while working with a dynamic team of educators and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme Administration and Logistics:
- Ensure smooth programme delivery by overseeing all administrative/logistical aspects of D-HIP.
- Prioritise and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Maintain programme reports and records, support curriculum planning leads, procurement, tracking implementation milestones, D-HIP event planning, etc.
- Programme Advocate:
- Have a good understanding of both the technical and management aspects of the programme and proactively take steps to improve it together with faculty.
- Champion the programme and constantly advocate to improve the processes, programming and protocols of D-HIP.
- Actively participate in marketing activities to promote the program across different stakeholders and partners.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination:
- Work closely with planning leads, teaching faculty, students, and alumni to facilitate classes and meetings to consolidate teaching requirements.
- Understand both the technical and management aspects of the programme, and proactively take steps to improve it together with faculty.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work or as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering or Marcomms (Science).
- Minimum 4 years or more of relevant work experience with at least 2 years in a managerial related role.
- Strong interest and experience in the following areas would be advantageous - Innovation Programming, Business Development or Marcomms in healthcare, life sciences company or academic setting.
- Meticulous, well-organised, able to prioritise and multi-task.
- Individuals with a positive attitude and proactive mindset, demonstrating openness to exploring innovative solutions to drive progress.
- Have good interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate and work well in teams and with stakeholders of different levels.
- Required to work some evenings.
- Prior experience working with clinicians, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists or industry strategic investors will be advantageous.
