Job description

Job Description/ Responsibilities

  1. Support Head of Global Finance Accounting – Asia Pacific to strengthen the governance of Global Accounting Platform, which is accounting processes and systems, and group accounting rules for entities in the Asia Pacific region.
  2. Work closely with Japan Headquarters to drive consistent and effective accounting across all entities in Asia Pacific region.
  3. Facilitate the exchange of knowledge on consolidated accounting reports between regional and HQ’s practices and processes.
  4. Undertake rigorous financial analysis to ensure the accuracy of financial statements to stakeholders.
  5. Coordinate and liaise with external auditors to drive efficiency in audit processes for the entities in Asia Pacific region.
  6. Take lead to conduct accounting policies trainings to Asia Pacific entities.
  7. Drive Global Accounting projects, including in changes in IFRS, ESG reporting, OECD Pillar 2 reporting, as an extended arm of Japan HQ.
  8. Active involvement in new initiatives or projects as required.
  9. Able to deal with multiple stakeholders across all management levels.

Qualifications/ Requirements

  1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management or equivalent qualifications.
  2. Minimum of 6 years’ experience in accounting in a multinational corporation (MNC), using SAP accounting system, specifically Business Objects Financial Consolidation and Financial Information Management.
  3. Strong background in consolidation accounting in a global company with 6 years. You must possess knowledge in how regional accounting report is consolidated, settled and disclosed in global companies, as well as to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between regional and HQ’s practices and processes.
  4. You must possess in depth knowledge of IFRS.
  5. Strong communication skills to work with diverse culture and locations to create accounting report as the region.
  6. Overseas travelling may be required.
  7. Effective influencing, organizational and problem solving skills.
  8. Strong presentation skills and ability to write professionally.
  9. Proficiency in the Japanese language (JLPT N1) is preferred to liaise with Japan HQ.
