Job summary

Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is seeking an Assistant Manager, Land Management (Environmental Team) to support environmental goals through policy development and project oversight. You will work with stakeholders across public and private sectors to inform land management decisions while ensuring environmental standards are met.

The role involves leading soil and groundwater assessments, developing data frameworks, and coordinating tenders and procurement while monitoring budgets.

Qualifications

  • Background in Environment Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related quantitative discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
  • Experience in environmental assessment or soil/ groundwater work is an advantage.
  • Fresh graduates welcomed.

Assistant Manager, Land Management (Environmental Team)

Join a team that plays a key role in supporting Singapore's land management and environmental goals. You will contribute to the development of environmental policies, frameworks and standards, oversee environmental projects, and work with stakeholders across the public and private sectors to support informed land management decisions.

What you will be working on
  • Lead and manage the development and implementation of environmental projects, including soil and groundwater assessment and remediation projects, making a tangible impact on the environment and the community
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of environmental quality standards for Singapore, ensuring that our land is safe for future generations
  • Contribute to the development of land and environmental management policies and frameworks, translating technical findings into practical land-use decisions
  • Develop and maintain a database of environmental quality data, providing critical information for land planning, maintenance, and regulation purposes
  • Work closely with government agencies, industry partners, consultants, and other stakeholders to advance Singapore's environmental and land management objectives.
  • Facilitate cross-agency collaboration on environmental initiatives and contribute to the development of whole-of-government solutions.
  • Prepare tender documents and manage the procurement process for consultants and contractors, ensuring that we work with the best partners to achieve our goals
  • Manage project finances, including budget tracking, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring that we make the most of our resources
What we are looking for
  • Background in Environment Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent or other related quantitative discipline
  • Must be able to operate independently, but at the same time be a team player and effectively work with teams
  • Positive attitude with strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders across different disciplines and levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical information and develop practical solutions.
  • Experience in environmental assessment, soil and groundwater investigations, or related environmental management work will be an advantage. Candidates with project management experience in any field are also encouraged to apply.
  • Fresh graduates with a keen interest in environmental and land management will also be considered.
