As an Assistant Manager, you will assist the Infrastructure and Security manager to manage the entire on-premise and Cloud IT infrastructure including servers, desktops, business applications, network security, Office 365, SharePoint/OneDrive, Azure Cloud Services, and day-to-day IT operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, analyze and optimize all server and application performance to ensure that IT services are stable and robust to support growing demands.
- Maintain subject matter expertise in all applications for systems and maintain knowledge on all new and upcoming technologies and provide support to all production activities and resolve all technical issues in IT systems.
- Perform all system maintenance and routine server programs and perform troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop and implement solutions for network issues, system administration problems, and application errors.
- Monitor systems to identify potential system errors and performance issues.
- Evaluate the optimal use for IT infrastructure through the assessment of factors such as compatibility, usability, and cost.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for IT infrastructure in the participation of related triage, changes, and relevant projects and implementation.
- Provide advice, support & guidance to staff & management with respect to technical issues, networking, operations, application, and desktop support.
- Ensure that systems and network documentation are up-to-date and in line with corporate policies and procedures.
- Source hardware and software from current or new vendors.
- Evaluate all IT quotations and proposals and ensure adherence to all budget objectives and maintain record of all maintenance agreements with third party providers.
- Provide technical support, training, and direction to staff to ensure effective use of systems.
- Responsible for capacity planning and maintenance of IT infrastructure including servers, desktops, business applications, and network security.
- Evaluate all system practices and recommend improvements and modifications to reduce cost and upgrade systems while maintaining knowledge of all company IT assets.
- Perform research and implement technical solutions for systems and ensure compliance with company objectives, providing regular status reports to management and performing tests on systems for smooth workflow.
- Maintain and update quality records according to standard guidelines on identification, filing, storage, maintenance, and disposition of these records.
- Assist in control and proper maintenance of internal documents received where applicable.
- Provide feedback to management about the purchase of products and services supplied by vendors to assist in vendor evaluations.
- Cover duties of fellow colleagues in their absence.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- A recognized diploma in Information Technology.
- More than 3 years of related hands-on working experience in implementing and managing servers and networks.
- Good knowledge in VMWare, O365, and Cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity best practices and policies such as ISO27K.
- Good knowledge of Networking such as Cisco switches & routers, TCP/IP, network security.
- Excellent troubleshooting and technical analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments and responsibilities within deadlines.
