Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renowned wildlife parks connecting visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, which will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces, and an eco-friendly resort.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate with development teams for Rainforest Wild Africa (RFS) handover and takeover processes.
- Plan and manage horticulture operations, analyze resources to improve efficiency and productivity, and provide guidance to the team to ensure quality and timely completion of tasks.
- Liaise with stakeholders for daily needs and plan for ad-hoc requests within limited timeframes to avoid disrupting the maintenance schedule.
- Establish good relationships with external vendors to ensure the supply of diverse plants and landscape materials of high quality.
- Enforce departmental policies aligned with the organisation's vision, mission, and values.
- Collaborate with the RFS team to ensure the smooth operation of the park for guests.
- Serve as a backup for managerial and executive roles to ensure business continuity.
- Participate in management and site meetings, presenting proposals, project updates, and initiatives involving various departments, vendors, and authorities.
- Prepare purchase requisitions, goods receipt, reservations, including Capex and Opex, through the SAP system.
- Manage horticulture operations to adhere to the original landscape design intent.
- Coordinate with the Development Team for DLP management, record defects, and facilitate timely inspections and handovers.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements:
- Recognised degree in Botany, Horticulture, Forestry Science, Ecology, Environmental Science/Management, Landscape Architecture, or equivalent.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant local experience.
- Professional accreditation such as AIH Certified Practising Horticulturist, ISA Certified Arborist, SILA Landscape Architect is an advantage.
- Passion for nature and enjoyment of outdoor work.
- Understanding of ecology and biodiversity conservation.
- Experience with SESAMI and SAP systems is advantageous.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
