Data Engineer (2 Years Contract)

Education Research Team, NHG Group Clinical Education

The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team to partner clinician educators, administrators, GCIO office and Synapxe to develop and implement data pipelines for education-related data in healthcare, to enable end users to implement machine learning models to gain data-driven insights for the improvement of the education environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Data architecture design: designing data systems and pipelines for efficient data flow and storage in collaboration with service teams;
  • Data pipeline development: building and maintaining data pipelines (source to storage and processing systems);
  • Database management: managing and optimizing databases for data integrity, performance and accessibility. Develop and implement data checks for accuracy and integrity. Monitor data integrity to proactively identify and address any issues;
  • ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) Processes: to prepare data for analysis;
  • System integration: integrating data sources for seamless flow between systems;
  • Collaborate with teams to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

(a) Education/Training/Experience

  • Degree in Data Science or related quantitative fields (e.g. Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science).
  • Proficiency in Programming languages: Python, R, SQL.
  • Experience in development or deployment of AI models is a plus.
  • Knowledge of machine learning platforms and services from cloud providers such as AWS.
  • Proficient in usage of data visualisation tools to develop and present interactive dashboards and reports to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in development of analytics solutions (including data processing, statistical modelling) for large datasets.

(b) Personal Attributes

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills to convey analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of healthcare domain is an advantage.
