The College of Engineering (CoE) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager, Finance to join our Finance team. This position plays a key role in supporting the Assistant Director, Finance in executing sound financial practices, ensuring fiscal discipline, and maintaining financial compliance in alignment with the College and University’s mission.
The incumbent will contribute to the implementation of a strong financial framework to support strategic planning, decision-making, and resource stewardship. This role also ensures financial governance and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
College Finance
Prepare monthly departmental utilization reports comparing actuals against budget.
Prepare reports on endowed funds.
Collect and consolidate departmental budgets and forecasts, including compiling data from schools for presentation.
Submit quarterly grant claims for the MOE START Programme.
Ensure timely and accurate financial year-end closing by gathering accruals in advance and recording commitments within the financial year.
Manage assets through tracking, maintenance, and disposal.
Follow up on long-outstanding purchase orders.
Perform goods receipt and invoice processing.
Coordinate and process non-PO payments.
Investigate discrepancies in financial postings and follow up on corrective actions.
Provide support to the Financial Business Partner (FBP) on other financial matters.
Stakeholder management
Provide timely support and clear responses to any questions or issues raised by stakeholders in relation to the systems/ processes, ensuring policy compliance.
Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to support smooth financial operations.
Processes streamline
Standardize procedures by developing clear guidelines and templates, such as step-by-step user video guides.
Conduct training sessions to improve stakeholder understanding and adoption.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualifications, 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge in SAP HANA, Concur, Ariba are advantageous
Highly adaptable.
Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively within the team and with multiple stakeholders.
Outstanding attention to details and follow-up skills.
Well-developed prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills.
