Nanyang Technological University is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Safety and Facilities team. This role focuses on ensuring smooth operations and maintenance of the SPMS building, managing facilities projects, and enhancing safety measures while requiring strong organizational and communication skills.
The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences is seeking to hire an Assistant Manager for the Safety and Facilities team. The job of Facilities Manager is to integrate NTU’s ambition towards a safe and secure campus by proactively reviewing processes for data collection, data analysis and prediction to meet future operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Smooth operation of the SPMS building infrastructure and facilities. Identify building defects and faults and ensure they are rectified promptly.
Maintenance of the building infrastructure and facilities.
Providing infrastructure and necessary facilities for new equipment or new staff. Managing Addition & Alteration (A&A) projects and get requirements from end-users and liaise with contractor to enable job completion towards successful installation of new equipment and laboratories.
Responsible in preparing specifications and renovation projects.
Support in implementation of the safety management system within the School Inspection, and all facility issues related to safety are documented.
Working with the Finance to set facility budget and other expenses.
Ensure security of the SPMS building is maintained. Maintain all security devices and CCTV to ensure they are working well.
Abide by NTU’s policies/procedures on checking/verifying/escalations with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Science or Engineering
At least 3 years (degree holders) and 5 years (diploma holders) of experience in facilities management/project management
Relevant experience in research laboratory/pilot plant set up and operation will be preferred
Good knowledge of contractor and vendor management
Good planning and organizational skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Able to adapt to dynamic environments and manage unforeseen situations effectively
