An established industry player seeks an Assistant Manager to support community engagement initiatives and enhance the music ecosystem. This role involves leading programming, managing logistics for concerts, and building relationships with diverse communities. The Assistant Manager’s main role is to support the department head and/or supervisor, contribute to the area of community engagement and the Company’s aspirations to enable diverse communities to be impacted deeply and meaningfully by music and be recognised as a partner and leader in the music ecosystem and a source of national pride.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Programming
Lead in programming and support operations and production in projects as assigned.
Research and source for potential community and family repertoire/programmes to recommend.
Research and implement accessibility initiatives to make SSO concerts more inclusive.
Assist the Department/Company with special projects as assigned.
Project Management/Productions
Lead in project management.
Liaise with colleagues and external parties – venue providers, suppliers, conductors, artistes, orchestra management and speakers.
Manage booking of venues for concerts and events, date-negotiations and events scheduling on the calendaring system ArtsVision.
Negotiate terms such as fees, travel and accommodation with artistes.
Prepare contracts for various stakeholders as required.
Prepare all logistics such as travel, hotel accommodation, car transfers, backstage passes and artiste itineraries.
Prepare information sheets for orchestra members and vendors.
Conduct briefings and training for project helpers and volunteers.
Provide front-of-house support for concerts and events.
Support the execution of technical rehearsals and concerts for projects as assigned.
Brief the Stage Manager, front-of-house and production crew on the concert sequence to ensure cues are executed on time.
Outreach Relationships and Communications
Build and maintain relationships with communities, partners, vendors, and potential collaborators.
Marketing and Administrative Support
Obtain necessary publicity materials for Marcom’s use for flyers, programme booklets and season brochures.
Work with Marcoms on proofreading, design, content and layout of event/ related marketing collaterals.
Advise Marcoms and provide content for educational activities.
Coordinate artiste interviews with Marketing.
Research and contribute to enhancing the availability and variety of learning resources available for the website.
Reporting
Collate information and report on attendance, volunteer engagement and partners for projects.
Contribute to quarterly Management Report for CEN activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree holder with minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.
Senior Executive position may be considered for suitable candidate with lesser experience at suitable remuneration level.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; quick to adjust and adapt to technology.
Applicants must enjoy working with and be able to communicate with a wide range of age groups.
Resilient individual with positive energy and exceptional organization and planning skills.
Team player and flexible in working well with different personalities.
Experience and ability to read music, with an interest in classical music is a plus.
Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed.
