Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is the division of Disney Experiences that brings beloved brands and franchises into the daily lives of families and fans through products - from toys to t-shirts, apps, books, console games and more - and experiences that can be found around the world, including on the Disney Store e-commerce platform and at Disney Parks, local and international retailers, as well as Disney Store locations globally. About the Role

The Assistant Manager, Communications & Public Affairs, DCP APAC will be a key member of the Communications team, supporting the development and execution of external communications and internal engagement initiatives and events across the APAC region.

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications & Public Affairs, DCP APAC, this role is responsible for the development and implementation of communication strategies for the Disney Consumer Products (DCP) business in APAC. This includes supporting global and regional communications efforts, delivering internal engagement initiatives, and managing projects and events.

Responsibilities:

Communications

  • Support the Senior Manager, Communications & Public Affairs, DCP APAC, in developing and executing strategic, integrated communications plans across APAC, which includes markets like Australia & New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Mainland China, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Taiwan.
  • Serve as an advisor to the global communications team - offering regional insights on market dynamics, cultural nuances, and audience preferences to ensure global messaging is relevant, impactful, and appropriately localized for APAC audiences.
  • Partner with local communications teams to cascade and adapt global priorities, campaigns, and messaging - ensuring content is tailored and delivered in a way that is locally relevant, engaging, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and implement internal communications strategies that inform, engage, and inspire DCP APAC cast members, fostering a connected and purpose-driven workplace culture.
  • Lead the management and content strategy for dedicated internal communications platforms, spotlighting regional milestones, campaigns, and success stories across APAC.
  • Craft and execute executive communications and thought leadership initiatives for DCP APAC leaders, including the preparation of key messages, talking points, and stakeholder messaging that supports visibility and influence.
  • Collaborate with global and local communications teams and cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Brand & Franchise, HR, and Legal to deliver meaningful internal and external communications that support business goals.
  • Curate and distribute a monthly APAC communications report featuring media coverage, market updates, and regional insights for senior leadership, communications teams, marketing teams, as well as as other relevant cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of communications assets for regional intiatives and projects, including PR materials and executive communications materials across APAC.
  • Manage communication components for internal and external events, including invitations, email communications (eDMs), and related collateral.


Projects and Events Management

  • Lead the planning and execution of key internal events such as Town Halls, Leadership Summits, and employee engagement sessions, overseeing all aspects including logistics, content creation, program flow, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Create comprehensive event briefings and run-of-show documents, working closely with IT and relevant support teams to ensure seamless technical execution.
  • Act as the project lead and primary liaison for regional initiatives, ensuring alignment across teams and successful delivery of communications and event objectives.


Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across internal Lines of Business (LOBs), fostering collaboration and alignment on communication and engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as a communications point of contact for HR business partners, providing support and ensuring consistent messaging across people-related initiatives.
  • Maintain clear, open, and consistent communication with all stakeholders, establishing and managing expectations to ensure high standards and successful outcomes.
  • Oversee and manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and partners - ensuring quality deliverables meet Disney's quality, timeline, and brand guidelines.


Establish and Maintain Disney Centre of Excellence

  • Champion and embed Disney's best practices across communications projects and partnerships in APAC.
  • Identify and share internal case studies and success stories to promote learning and elevate performance across The Walt Disney Company.
  • Translate stakeholder objectives into actionable plans and communications strategies with measurable outcomes.
  • Continuously assess and enhance operational workflows for greater efficiency, effectiveness, and value creation.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for innovation and process improvements across all communications and event-related activities.


Administration

  • Ensure all communications projects and event operations comply with relevant legal, security, and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to agreements, International Labor Standards requirements, intellectual property usage, risk asssessments, and Global Security requirements.


Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of PR/ Communications and Events experience
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and the ability to take initiative with projects and anticipate issues of concern
  • Disciplined organizational skills in all aspects of job performance with strong attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to coordinate and manage events from conception to completion, both virtual and in person
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing and growing environment
  • Skills in creative softwares and apps for editing and filming preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to broadly influence and effectively forge partnerships both internally and externally
  • Proactive, self-starter
  • High level of corporate professionalism, maturity, and political savvy
  • Proven ability to maintain confidential information
