Job summary

The Cigna Group in Singapore seeks an experienced actuarial professional to support APAC valuation tasks for Australia and Singapore, assist in US GAAP and local statutory reporting, and help with IFRS17 implementation and analytics.

You will work on reserve setting, movement analysis, and data preparation for dashboards, collaborating with audit teams and cross-functional colleagues to streamline processes and ensure robust controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field
• Actuarial qualification pursuit with SOA/IFoA or similar bodies is acceptable
• 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience
• Knowledge of valuation and reporting processes in health insurance
• Understanding of IFRS17 is a plus
• Programming interest in Alteryx, AWS, ResQ, SQL and Tableau; proficient in Microsoft Excel/Access/PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Support APAC valuation tasks for Australia and Singapore
• Assist in US GAAP reporting and local statutory reporting (ALCO/ORSA)
• Assist in reserve setting and movement analyses for claims and loss ratios
• Support APAC reporting including monthly PYD computations
• Assist IFRS17 reporting and transition to BAU processes
• Meet internal and external audit requirements for local reporting and IFRS17
• Prepare data and maintain actuarial databases and dashboards
• Propose improvements to reserving processes with robust controls
• Participate in actuarial reserving projects and cross-functional ad-hoc initiatives
• Handle ad-hoc tasks as assigned

Critical Tasks And Expected Contributions/Results

• To support APAC valuation tasks for Australia and Singapore as follows:
• Assist in internal US GAAP reporting, local statutory reporting (e.g. ALCO and ORSA), as well as annual reserve and expense study
• Assist in setting reserves for financial close, conduct claims and loss ratio detailed movement analysis and understanding of underlying key drivers
• Assist in APAC reporting, e.g. monthly PYD computation and analysis
• Assist in IFRS17 reporting and related task including implementation and transition to business-as-usual process
• Assist in meeting both internal and external audit requirements for local reporting and IFRS 17 reporting
• Data preparation and assist in the development and maintenance of claims/actuarial database and analytic dashboards
• Provide support in optimizing and streamlining reserving processes. This includes proposing and implementing improvements while maintaining robust controls and proper documentation
• Participate in actuarial reserving projects and collaborate with other business functions in ad-hoc projects to implement key strategic initiatives
• Any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned

Experience/Knowledge, Education And Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field of study
• Associate level or candidates actively pursuing actuarial qualifications from the Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or comparable actuarial bodies
• 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience.
• Good knowledge and experience of valuation and reporting process
• Good understanding in health insurance, health claim process, healthcare systems, IFRS17 is a plus
• Good knowledge and strong interest in programming (e.g. Alteryx, AWS, ResQ, SQL and Tableau). Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Access, Powerpoint etc.)
• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Have good understanding of the Actuarial valuation function and operating models
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, applied to insurance and finance data domains
• Ability to apply technical knowledge and skills in automating and streamlining work processes
