Assistant Manager (2-year contract)

Job Description

Under the NUHS Research Office, the Assistant Manager serves as a member of the Cardiovascular-Metabolic Disease Translational Research Programme, under the leadership of Professor Roger Foo, Principal Investigator.

This position includes, but is not limited to:

• Involved in management of grants with multiple stakeholders, from pre-award to post-award activities, operations, compliance, and finance.
• Arrange and coordinate events and meetings, including creating and distributing meeting minutes, preparing facilities for scheduled meetings, and arranging refreshments, if required.
• Manage overall day-to-day administrative activities for the Principal Investigator.
• Assisting with reporting and presentations to stakeholders.
• Purchasing products and services for the Principal Investigator, including preparing reports, tracking orders, ensuring timely delivery, and keeping records of purchases.
• Maintain research-related databases, files, and records.
• As administrative support for the Principal Investigator, this role will involve liaising with members of staff and external parties from other institutions and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Prior experience working in or with the scientific research industry.
• Active listening and good communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and social skills.
• Independent and a good team player.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to multitask.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Good proficiency in MS Office applications such as PowerPoint and Excel.
