Position Overview:
As the Assistant IT Manager at Pathlab Singapore (PLSG), you will play a key supporting role in managing daily IT operations, implementing technical solutions, and maintaining essential infrastructure. This position demands strong hands-on technical skills and troubleshooting abilities, especially within healthcare IT systems. You will contribute to both strategic initiatives and day-to-day tasks under the direction of the Regional IT Manager.
Additionally, you will assist in various projects and assignments as delegated, including but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
1. IT Operations Support:
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of IT systems including the LIS, hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications.
- Perform first-level and second-level troubleshooting to ensure system reliability and uptime.
- Monitor IT systems to ensure performance, availability, and security compliance.
2. Project & Implementation Support:
- Provide technical and administrative support for IT projects.
- Work closely with internal users, vendors, and stakeholders to support project timelines and deliverables.
- Help track progress and provide regular status updates to the Regional IT Manager.
3. Government Liaison Support:
- Assist in liaising with technical representatives from Singapore government agencies (e.g., Synapse, HPB) for IT system implementation and interfacing matters.
- Help manage technical submissions and respond to troubleshooting issues when required.
4. Security & Compliance:
- Support the implementation of IT security measures and ensure enforcement of existing policies.
- Help prepare documentation to ensure compliance with Singapore healthcare IT regulations and audit requirements.
5. Software and Integration Support:
- Assist in managing and testing software development and integration projects (in-house or external).
- Participate in hands-on development or scripting tasks when needed.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to system integrations (e.g., HL7 interface mappings).
6. User Support & Training
- Provide end-user training or documentation to improve adoption of new systems or updates.
- Serve as a point of contact for escalated IT support issues from users.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Recommend process or system improvements based on user feedback or performance metrics.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies relevant to healthcare IT.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting healthcare or lab IT systems.
- Proficient in software development with experience in PHP, Python, MySQL, MSSQL, RESTful APIs, and Windows-based application development. Experience in other programming languages or platforms will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with scientific instrumentation and documentation processes (e.g., Siemens, Roche systems).
- Solid understanding of technical concepts such as HL7, TCP/IP communication, software integration, and system configuration.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm
- Saturday: 8.30 am to 1.00 pm
