Assistant Manager – Infrastructure and Security

As an Assistant Manager, you will assist the Infrastructure and Security Manager in managing the entire on-premise and cloud IT infrastructure. This includes servers, desktops, business applications, network security, Office 365, SharePoint/OneDrive, Azure Cloud Services, and daily IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, review, and optimize server and application performance to ensure IT services are stable, scalable, and aligned with changing business requirements.

  • Maintain expertise in all system applications, keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, and promptly resolve technical issues in production environments.

  • Conduct routine system maintenance and server administration, addressing technical challenges efficiently.

  • Design and implement solutions to resolve network, system administration, and application errors.

  • Proactively monitor systems to detect and fix potential errors and performance bottlenecks.

  • Evaluate IT infrastructure for optimal compatibility, usability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IT infrastructure, participating in incident triage, change management, and project implementation.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff and management on networking, operations, applications, and desktop support matters.

  • Ensure all system and network documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and complies with company policies.

  • Source hardware and software from existing or new vendors as needed.

  • Review IT quotations and proposals for budget alignment, and maintain records of maintenance contracts with third-party providers.

  • Deliver technical training and support to users to promote effective system use.

  • Manage capacity planning and maintenance for servers, desktops, business applications, network security, and internet services.

  • Recommend improvements to existing system processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining an accurate IT asset inventory.

  • Research and implement technical solutions that support organizational goals, provide regular progress reports to management, and perform system testing to ensure smooth operation.

  • Maintain and update quality records according to standard procedures for document control.

  • Support management in maintaining internal documentation.

  • Provide feedback on vendor performance to aid procurement and evaluation.

  • Cover for colleagues during absences to ensure business continuity.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements:

  • A recognized diploma in Information Technology or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in managing servers and network infrastructure.

  • Strong expertise in VMware, Office 365, and cloud technologies.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and standards such as ISO 27000.

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including Cisco routers/switches, TCP/IP, and network security.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
