Overview

Job Title: Assistant Head/Head of Language Faculty

Key Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership for the Language Faculty, including English and Chinese language programmes
• Oversee curriculum design, courseware development, and teaching resource
• Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers
• Monitor student progression, outcomes, and academic performance data
• Lead regular meetings with the language teaching team to review performance and share best practices
• Ensure quality assurance and academic compliance with GD4 standards
• Deliver lessons or workshops where required to model best teaching practices
• Support staff professional development and contribute to continuous improvement in teaching and learning

Requirements

• Postgraduate qualifications in Linguistics/Applied Linguistics and CELTA, PGCE or equivalent professional teaching certification preferred
• Proven experience in language teaching (English and/or Chinese) and curriculum development
• MOE-trained or MOE-experienced teachers preferred
• Candidates currently holding or recently having held a similar leadership role preferred
• Experience with international students and a strong grasp of proficiency benchmarks (KET, PET, AEIS, IELTS)
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office applications; familiarity with data analysis for academic performance tracking is an advantage
