Assistant Freight Manager
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Freight Operations Management:
- Supervise the daily air and sea freight operations, ensuring efficient and punctual transportation of goods.
- Handle cross-border tracking processes, ensuring compliance with international shipping and customs regulations.
- Coordinate closely with carriers, customs officials, and other relevant stakeholders to mitigate operational disruptions.
Process Optimization:
- Identify inefficiencies in freight operations and implement process improvements to enhance overall performance.
- Use data-driven insights to monitor and refine operational strategies, minimizing delays and reducing costs.
Client Communication:
- Provide regular shipment updates to clients, addressing any concerns promptly and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Customer Focus Team to ensure cohesive communication and service delivery.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all freight operations adhere strictly to relevant international laws and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all shipments, including customs declarations and tracking reports.
- Ensure timely billing and invoice verifications.
Problem Solving:
Analyze complex situations, identify solutions, and make quick decisions in resolving customer complaints and issues.
Requirements:
- Proven Leadership Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a leadership role within freight & logistics.
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong Communication Skills:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams, management, and external stakeholders.
- Hands-On Approach:
- Comfortable working directly with the team on the ground, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
