Job description

Our client, located in the northern part of Singapore, is looking for a motivated individual experienced in facilities management, WSH and automotive service management to join their team.

As the Assistant Facilities Maintenance and Automotive Service Manager, you will oversee the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of our facilities while managing the daily operations of the automotive workshop. You will ensure high service standards, compliance with safety regulations, and continuous improvements to support the Centre's operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Maintenance:

  • Manage daily facilities operations to maintain a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate work schedules, supervise contractors, and ensure maintenance tasks meet departmental needs.
  • Evaluate third-party service providers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify and propose upgrades or remodelling projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery within budget.
  • Monitor departmental expenses, propose budgets, and drive cost-saving initiatives.

Workplace Safety & Health (WSH):

  • Develop and implement effective workplace safety procedures in line with WSH regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure a safe working environment for staff and contractors.
  • Keep the organisation updated on WSH standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Lead the development and execution of risk management plans, investigations, and incident reporting.
  • Conduct and manage emergency drills, providing training and guidance on safety protocols.

Fire Safety:

  • Fulfil responsibilities under the Fire Safety Act and SCDF requirements.
  • Conduct daily inspections to identify and eliminate fire hazards.
  • Implement fire safety measures, conduct regular drills, and train personnel in fire prevention and response.
  • Review contractors' risk assessments to ensure compliance with fire safety standards.

Automotive Service Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the automotive workshop, ensuring quality servicing and repairs.
  • Lead and motivate the team of mechanics to deliver high standards of service and customer care.
  • Monitor workshop productivity, turnaround times, and customer feedback, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Ensure sufficient spare part availability to minimise service delays.
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements in all workshop activities.
  • Analyse service data and KPIs to identify trends, resolve issues, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Address customer concerns professionally and maintain positive relationships to ensure high satisfaction.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in building operations, facilities management, electrical/mechanical engineering, or automotive after-sales/service management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of WSH regulations and fire safety requirements.
  • Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute tasks independently and as part of a team.
