Job summary

Merries Executive Search is assisting a client in Singapore to hire an assistant engineer responsible for IT security configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning at Ang Mo Kio and project sites.

The role requires a Diploma in Electronics or equivalent, at least 1 year of IT security deployment experience, OS hardening know-how, and experience with Syslog and EPO/antivirus solutions. Training and on-the-job guidance provided; apply now.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out IT security configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning.
• Maintain accurate records and complete assigned activities according to schedule.
• Work independently and with the project team to meet agreed schedules.
• Resolve problems proactively and escape unresolved issues.
• Follow test procedures, record results and report progress in the prescribed format.
• Perform routine preventive and corrective IT security activities.
• Maintain configuration records and network drawings for submission.
• Follow safety requirements and perform related IT security duties within the employee's training and authorisation.
• Harden Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems in accordance with approved procedures.
• Perform basic firewall configuration.
• Configure and deploy Syslog and EPO/antivirus solutions, and troubleshoot deployment faults.
• Test and commission IT security deployments, including hardening and Syslog, in accordance with test procedures.

Basic Salary: $3,100-$3,400

Transport Allowance: $200/month

Potential Gross Monthly: $4,500-$5,500 (inclusive of OT & transport allowance)

Requirements

• Diploma in Electronics or an equivalent ITE qualification relevant to the role.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience and working knowledge in IT security deployment or support.
• Working knowledge of operating-system hardening, with experience configuring and deploying Syslog and EPO/antivirus solutions.
• Ethernet knowledge and CCNA or a higher networking certification are an advantage.
• Able to understand and communicate in English to follow technical procedures, coordinate work and report progress.
• Able to interpret technical drawings and follow testing and commissioning procedures.
