Job description:

Responsibilities:

Productivity:

• Perform daily on-site supervision and operations activities:
• Briefing & Deployment of workers / Sub Contractor (Morning & afternoon)

a. Update daily deployment record
b. Planning of Over Time

• Planning of work and meeting project schedule
• Co-ordination within department for resource and work
• Co-ordination inter-department on work flow on board vessels
• Inspection of work site

a. Inspect readiness to work
b. Confirm accesses to work areas are clear and safe to work
c. Monitor work progress and ensure no delays to project schedule

• Preparation for VSCC meeting

a. Work progress and manpower deployment
b. Highlight areas need to other trades to clear their work (e.g. temporary lightings, staging, removal of insulation, etc.)
c. Updates/ highlight any housekeeping and safety issues
d. Apply for permit to work

• Supervise workers at work site

a. Re-deploy workers if they are unable to complete work due to obstruction
b. Check daily progress of work area

• Planning for following day work

a. Create job card
b. Update job done into system

Quality:

• Liaise with QA to arrange for inspection
• Perform QC check on completed work/jobs

a. Random check on completed work checked by his Chargehand
b. Check on critical components (e.g. MSB, ECR/ WH console and etc.)
c. Endorse on job card after checks

• Check on workers using the right tools/equipment for the job

Safety:

• Enforce the using of appropriate PPEs for all workers under his charge
• Maintain safe working practices among his in-charge and both on board and workshop
• Attend daily VSCC meeting
• Enforce strict compliance of Permit-To-Work system of all workers under his charge
• Conduct weekly safety hours briefing for all workers in the department
• Conduct Risk Assessment (RA) briefing to workers and sub-contractors under his charge to make sure that the work can be carried out safely
• Enforce and check housekeeping for all workers under his charge

Span Of Control:

• Responsible Asst Supr / Snr Asst Supr/ Chargehand and 30-40 workers

Special Requirements:

• Able to interpret electrical schematic diagrams and commission ship system

Requirements:

• Nitec/Higher Nitec/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, IT knowledge and completed Lifting Supervisor course an advantage
• Preferably 3 - 5 years of working experiences
• Work in marine industry or similar capacity
• Able to work under pressure
• Team player and customer oriented
• Able to adapt to changes

Other Information:

• Location: Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)
• 5 days work week
• Working Hours: 7.25am-5pm
