Job summary

Ley Choon seeks an Assistant Engineer to support planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure and utility projects in Singapore. You will work closely with project managers, clients, government agencies, and site teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and on-schedule delivery.

The role emphasizes organization, resourcefulness, and eagerness to develop project management and engineering expertise in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • > Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • > Relevant experience in project coordination, engineering, or construction projects preferred.
  • > Knowledge of local authority submissions and permit processes advantageous.
  • > Strong knowledge of SP Group procedures, utility coordination, and regulatory compliance in Singapore.
  • > Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • > Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • > Able to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • > Team player with problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • > Driving licence Class 2 or 3 is an added advantage for site mobility.

Responsibilities

  • > Develop understanding of project scope, timelines, budgets, and objectives to support project delivery.
  • > Coordinate with clients to identify requirements, scope, and deliverables.
  • > Schedule, attend, and document meetings with stakeholders, clients, teams, and management.
  • > Obtain and maintain project approvals and permits from authorities (NCE, LTA, NParks, GTP, MPA, LPB).
  • > Coordinate with TPOM Officers and authorities to ensure compliance and smooth site operations.
  • > Track permit validity and renewals for approvals and licenses.
  • > Liaise with SP Group on work schedules, reinstatement, and coordination matters.
  • > Support Project Managers in planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
  • > Participate in design and coordination meetings with process improvement input.
  • > Monitor progress, budgets, and resource usage to keep projects on schedule and budget.
  • > Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders for smooth execution and timely completion.
  • > Prepare and manage project documentation and correspondence.
  • > Serve as a key contact for project communications and working groups.
  • > Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • > Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Head of Department.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

We are one of the largest one-stop Underground Utilities Infrastructure companies based in Singapore. We provide Underground Utilities Infrastructure construction and maintenance, sewer pipeline rehabilitation, road and airfield construction and maintenance as well as asphalt pre-mix production and construction waste recycling.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure and utility projects. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with project managers, clients, government agencies, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, and eager to develop their project management and engineering expertise in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of project scope, timelines, budgets, and objectives to support successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients to identify project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
  • Schedule, attend, and document meetings with stakeholders, clients, project teams, and management.
  • Obtain and maintain project-related approvals and permits from relevant authorities, including NCE, LTA, NParks, GTP, MPA, and LPB.
  • Coordinate with TPOM Officers and relevant authorities to ensure project compliance and smooth site operations.
  • Track permit validity and arrange timely renewals of approvals and licenses required for project execution.
  • Liaise with SP Group officers regarding work schedules, reinstatement activities, and project coordination matters.
  • Support Project Managers in project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or Head of Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
