Job description

Assistant Engineer

The Assistant Engineer is responsible for supporting production operations, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining safety and environmental compliance.

Key duties include:

  • Coordinating with trained and certified operators to ensure proper staffing for assigned tasks.

  • Verifying receipt of correct quantities and materials, updating inventory and work order details accurately within the ERP system.

  • Ensuring production processes are executed under controlled and standardized conditions.

  • Setting up machinery and equipment in accordance with specified parameters and procedural guidelines.

  • Monitoring operators to ensure adherence to work instructions and operational procedures.

  • Providing technical and operational support by resolving day-to-day issues faced by operators.

  • Issuing Delivery Orders for parts dispatched to subcontractors.

  • Reviewing and approving operators’ output records for accuracy and compliance.

  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Making informed decisions regarding quality concerns to ensure product standards are met.

  • Suspending production if serious issues arise to prevent defective output.

  • Reporting quality and production issues promptly to the Section Manager or Section Head.

  • Analyzing and investigating defective products or production problems encountered during shifts.

  • Coordinating quality system audits and ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.

  • Upholding environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures.

  • Identifying potential work-related risks, recommending risk mitigation measures, and implementing safe work practices.

  • Investigating accidents, incidents, or occupational illnesses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.

  • Promoting EHS awareness through training and initiatives aimed at accident prevention and safety compliance.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing and machinery operations, demonstrating strong leadership skills.

  • Solid understanding of safety protocols, hazard identification, and risk management.

  • Proven experience in conducting safety audits and investigating incidents.

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule (including day and night shifts).

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a team-oriented mindset.

  • Knowledge of electrical systems and instrumentation.

  • Prior experience working in manufacturing environments is preferred.
