Job description:

Responsibilities:

Productivity:

  • Ensure sufficient UKC before conducting ship movements
  • Report to MPA Jurong Control prior to any move
  • Ensure riggers wear proper PPE (e.g., PPE, lifejacket) during operations
  • Lead rigger team and identify training needs
  • Control department budget, including man-hours
  • Prepare and submit ship movement service reports to Commercial Department
  • Participate in yard's improvement programs (Kaizen, QIC, PIC)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Department Head/Dock Master/Manager.

Quality:

  • Exercise reasonable care during ship movement activities
  • Complete moves within planned timing, barring unforeseen circumstances

Safety:

  • Monitor safety aspects of department activities
  • Ensure risk assessments (RA) are practiced on-site
  • Review and conduct RA and Safety Workplans
  • Enforce PPE usage and housekeeping standards
  • Implement and enforce PTW system
  • Conduct accident investigations and submit reports

Others:

  • Assist Dock Master with staff development matters

Requirements:

  • Polytechnic Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Maritime field
  • Valid Certificate of Competency Class 3 (Deck)
  • Qualified dock master with training experience in yards
  • Observe 100 movements; assessment by MPA includes practical and interview
  • Leadership qualities
  • Basic budgeting knowledge
  • Willing to work after hours, on weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel between yards and naval bases
  • Available for emergency call-outs
  • Ability to interpret and prepare docking plans
  • Experience with docking/undocking on Syncrolift and Floating Dock
  • Ability to transfer operations from site to syncrolift platform (CNB & Benoi Yard)
  • Vessel pilotage capability
  • Knowledge of MPA regulations and rules
  • Proficient in MS Office and computer skills

  • Location: Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)
  • 5-day work week
  • Working hours: 7.25am-5pm
