Job description

What The Role Is

As an Assistant Director in the Technology and Innovation Department at the National Arts Council, you will spearhead initiatives at the intersection of arts and technology. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies and programmes that leverage technologies to catalyse innovation in the arts sector. This role requires a good blend of

strategic vision, leadership skills, technological acumen, stakeholder development and management skills, and a good understanding of Singapore's arts ecosystem.

What You Will Be Working On

You will take a lead role in the following:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the department's mid to long-term strategy for integrating technology into the arts sector.
  • Lead the development and implementation of programmes to promote arts and tech, and the growth of arts and technology community in Singapore.
  • Oversee funding, capability development and other related initiatives to encourage technology adoption among arts organisations and practitioners.
  • Lead high-level negotiations with key local and international stakeholders, including government agencies, technology partners, and arts organisations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with their priority areas, and ensure the strategic alignment of projects with the objectives of NAC’s Arts Plan 2.0.
  • Direct the development and execution of multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.


As a Team Lead, You Will Be Responsible For

  • Leading and nurturing a team of Managers. Your team management responsibilities will encompass setting clear objectives and key result indicators, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing mentorship to develop your team members' skills and careers. You'll be expected to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-functional teamwork.


What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role overseeing projects or programmes of varying scales.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technology trends and their applications, particularly in creative industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects or initiatives.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement long-term visions.
  • Good leadership and team management abilities, including experience in mentoring and developing staff.
  • Good stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex relationships at senior levels.
  • Good understanding of the arts ecosystem in Singapore and internationally.
  • Great communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas to audiences of varying levels.
  • A forward-thinking mindset and the ability to anticipate and adapt to emerging trends in both technology and the arts.
  • An innovative spirit to embrace possibilities, push the boundaries of what is possible in the intersection of arts and technology.
