What The Role Is

You are responsible for providing accurate and timely analysis on the strategic interests and related developments on the country-of-interest in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Conduct research on security developments
  • Support bilateral and multilateral defence engagements
  • Produce and present findings to military leaders and relevant stakeholders
  • Support branch workplan and expertise development
  • Strategise military-to-military engagement needs
  • Maintain oversight of strategic thinking


Challenge(s)

  • Appraising complex, evolving issues quickly and effectively
  • Synthesising large amounts of information into coherent assessments for non-specialist stakeholders


What We Are Looking For

  • Education in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies or related field
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant knowledge of countries of interest
  • Good command of English language and strong writing skills
  • Aptitude for languages
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable to work in a team or independently
  • Ability to explore and identify new areas of research relevant
  • Interest and knowledge on current political and defence developments, and their implications to the country-of-interest and the international order
  • Interest in defence and military affairs, history, with a focus on Asia
