What The Role Is
You lead a team of researchers to drive research and analysis into terrorism developments and assess the security implications to Singapore's maritime environment.
What You Will Be Working On
- Work closely with other maritime and security agencies from the government, industry and think-tanks to monitor short and long-term terrorism and maritime trends.
- Provide operationally relevant insights to guide daily operations of the unit to detect and respond to potential maritime threats
- Support the development of Whole-of-Government operational plans against a range of maritime threat scenarios
Challenge(s)
- Leading a team to maintain a comprehensive overview of fast-paced terrorism developments
- Highlighting emerging trends in maritime security and assessing their impact on Singapore
- Keeping abreast of different research methodologies that may be used to strengthen research findings
- Managing potential research bias
What We Are Looking For
- At least 6 years of working experience
- Background as security specialist or academic is preferred, with an extensive network of contacts and domain knowledge in terrorism, maritime security, law enforcement and/or governance
- Ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively
- Ability to think fast and creatively
- Good writing and analytical skills
- Operational thinking abilities
