What The Role Is
You are responsible for leading and coordinating strategic initiatives to enhance the operational readiness and efficiency of Defence Cyber Command (DCCOM). You plan, coordinate, and develop cyber defence operations, ensuring readiness to counter threats across military and national domains, while integrating multi-agency and multi-domain efforts and driving innovation to address emerging cyber threats and capability gaps.
What You Will Be Working On
- Analyse current operational processes and identify areas of improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Oversee the formulation and review of procedures and frameworks related to operational planning and development
- Manage and oversee key operational development projects to achieve operationalisation
- Conduct detailed analysis of operational data to inform decision making and optimise resource allocation
- Engage with external partners and stakeholders to foster collaboration and gain insights into best practices.
Challenge(s)
- Balancing operational readiness with long term capability development
- Ensuring forces can respond to threats while advancing new tools, processes, and training
- Integrating multi-agency and multi-domain operations.
- Aligning cyber defence plans across WoG agencies, international partners, and SAF domains with differing doctrines, clearances, and priorities
- Having good anticipation and planning for emerging threats and technologies, staying ahead of rapidly evolving cyber threats and tech despite long defence procurement and planning cycles
What We Are Looking For
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in operations planning, project management or organisational development
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including foreign counterparts
- Ability to prioritise tasks and workstreams
- Ability to work independently
