Job summary

A leading health technology company in Singapore is seeking an experienced legal professional to support its operations. The role involves drafting, negotiating agreements, and advising on compliance with cybersecurity and data laws. Candidates must possess a law degree, be admitted to the Singapore Bar, and have at least 8 years of post-qualification experience. Strong communication skills and familiarity with legal tech tools are preferred. This position offers a dynamic work environment in a fast-paced industry.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years PQE as an in-house lawyer or with a reputable commercial law firm.
  • Experience with legal tech tools is a plus.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.

Job description
Position Overview

The Legal Department supports Synapxe and its stakeholders (such as the Board of Directors and Senior Management) in its various business activities relating to the multi-faceted digital and IT industry and environment, by providing agile, accurate and effective advice with excellence and integrity.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements to achieve a calibrated best position for Synapxe from legal and business perspectives.
  • Advising on all relevant legal and regulatory matters, particularly in relation to cybersecurity & data laws, company law, contract law, intellectual property law, digital and technology laws.
  • Advising on and managing all legal and contracting documentation and processes.
  • Policy and legal compliance work.
  • Working closely with members of Legal and other relevant departments on the above matters.
Requirements
  • A degree in law and admission to the Singapore Bar.
  • Minimum 8 years’ PQE gained as an in-house lawyer with an MNC or with a reputable commercial law firm. A second degree in IT or familiarity with Digital / IT industries, IT architectures is a plus.
  • Experience procuring and using legal tech tools as part of legal team’s digital transformation would also be a plus.
  • An agile, astute and analytical legal, business and IT oriented mind.
  • A constructive and proactive attitude and approach towards innovation and tech developments, always keen to learn and adapt.
  • Excellent applied legal & regulatory, contracting and negotiation competencies with high capacities, to provide agile, accurate and effective advice, in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, embracing constructive and collegial team work, within department and with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
