Position Title: Assistant Director, Fundraising
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Employment Type: Office Hours
Salary Range: Up to $12,000/month (Based on experience and suitability)
Team Management: Oversee 3 Teams – Fundraising, Corporate Communications, and Marketing (Total: 8 staff)
Annual Fundraising Target: $3–4 million
Position Overview:
As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Assistant Director, Fundraising is responsible for driving the strategic direction and execution of all fundraising, donor engagement, and communications activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organisation’s mission through effective stakeholder engagement and resource mobilisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Fundraising & Outreach
Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Team to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising and outreach strategies
Lead annual fundraising campaigns including events, major gifts, individual giving, planned giving, and grant applications
Oversee donor acquisition and retention strategies, including cultivation and relationship-building with key donors and partners
Team Leadership
Provide strong leadership to the Fundraising, Corporate Communications, and Marketing teams
Set clear goals, manage performance, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability
Donor & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors and prospective funders
Represent the organisation at external events, donor meetings, and public engagements
Identify market trends and implement best practices in donor engagement and non-profit communications
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Finance, Clinical, Operations, and HR departments to ensure proper allocation, recording, and stewardship of donations
Support the Fundraising and Communications Committees in governance and reporting
Executive Team Involvement
Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ET)
Advise the CEO on strategic donor engagement and public positioning
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related discipline
Proven track record in fundraising, with experience managing multi-million dollar campaigns
Strong leadership and people management experience
Demonstrated success in event planning and stakeholder engagement
Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and project management skills
Previous experience in the healthcare or non-profit sector is preferred
