What the role is:
To plan, direct & control the finance and accounting activities for the CDC, which includes implementation of financial policies, maintenance of records and financial reports, in the areas of performance accounting, cash management, internal control systems, financial planning and management reporting for the council.
To manage and lead a team to conceptualise and execute special project, Shaping Hearts, NECDC’s annual inclusive art and music festival.
What you will be working on:
Finance and Procurement Management
- Direct the implementation of accounting systems, procedures and internal controls in the CDC to accurately record and account for all financial transactions.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements and management reports which accurately reflect the CDC’s financial status.
- Co-ordinate the preparation of annual statutory audits, or any other required audits.
- Supervise and analyse the budgetary planning, expenditure and controls of the CDC to ensure optimum utilisation of fund.
- Report the CDC’s financial figures and status to the Mayor, CDC Senior Management and the Council on a regular basis.
- Ensure best practices and provide advisory on procurement procedures.
Special Project(s) Management
- Effective engagement with Corporate Partners and Donors, Grassroots Organisations and other relevant community stakeholders to positively contribute and participate in annual flagship programme, Shaping Hearts.
- Perform proper budgeting and allocation of other resources to realize optimal utilization of resources to achieve the flagship programme outcomes and KPIs.
- Oversee, plan, curate and work with appointed Event Management Company to generate innovative ideas and elements for the annual Shaping Hearts event to promote inclusivity.
- Drive traffic to Shaping Hearts through outreach to community stakeholders and working closely with Partnership & Volunteer Management to encourage sales of artwork by corporate partners.
- Work with Communications Team to publicize special projects or programmes.
What we are looking for:

- Provide guidance to staff on adherence to financial and procurement policies
- Liaise with IT personnel & software house in upgrading/modifying both WorkDay & Donation Management Systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors.
