What the role is:
You develop and execute defence relations (DR) strategies with assigned Navy of Interest (NOI), conducting research, planning interactions, and maintaining strategic relationships to advance the Republic of Singapore Navy’s (RSN)'s interests.
What you will be working on:
- Develop DR action plans and strategies- Plan and execute diplomatic interactions- Conduct open-source research on NOI- Evaluate opportunities and risks- Engage foreign counterparts- Review strategy effectiveness- Coordinate bilateral activities- Support RSN principals at foreign meetings- Synergise across multiple portfolios- Maintain strategic relationshipsChallenge(s)- Understanding complex geopolitical and defence issues- Navigating sensitive diplomatic relationships- Managing competing strategic interests- Processing critical strategic information- Balancing multiple stakeholder needs
What we are looking for:
- At least 6 years of experience in defence relations, research or a related field, with minimum 3 years of managerial experience- Strong critical thinking and staff writing skills- Good interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills- Meticulous with a strong composure- Excellent organisation and management skills- Proficiency in vernacular languages is advantageousOnly shortlisted candidates will be notified.
