Job Description

This role is responsible for driving the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of AIC's data governance and management framework, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and enhancing data maturity. This role oversees a team of data governance specialists and analysts, collaborates with stakeholders across AIC, and champions policies and standards to position data as a strategic asset.

  1. Data Governance Framework
    1. Drive the development, implementation, and refinement of AIC's data governance framework to align with business priorities and the evolving data maturity roadmap.
    2. Define and enforce data policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance, security, and data quality.
  2. Strategic Oversight and Initiatives
    1. Provide strategic direction for initiatives like AIC's data lakehouse in HEALIX, ensuring governance practices support the bronze, silver, and gold data tiers effectively.
    2. Oversee the prioritisation and implementation of data domains for integration into AIC's data lakehouse on HEALIX.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement
    1. Work with internal business units and other external stakeholders to ensure alignment on governance objectives and priorities.
    2. Act as a key advocate for data governance, fostering buy-in and collaboration across all levels of the organisation.
  4. Training and Change Management
    1. Oversee the creation and delivery of training programs and workshops to enhance data literacy and awareness of data governance practices among staff and stakeholders.
    2. Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of data governance initiatives, addressing resistance and fostering engagement.
  5. Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
    1. Establish and monitor performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of governance initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
    2. Conduct periodic reviews to assess compliance with data governance policies and identify areas for enhancement.
  6. Team Leadership and Development
    1. Lead and mentor the data governance team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
    2. Oversee resource planning, skills development, and workload management to achieve team and organisational goals.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in relevant business, technology, or engineering specialty, or related field with at least 12 years of working experience with 4 years of management experience in data management, data governance, or related fields with proven leadership experience, including managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Certification in Certified Data Management Professional by Data Management Association International (DAMA) or a related certification is an advantage.
  • Certification in adult learning methodologies and/or change management methodologies equivalent is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing data governance and management frameworks and policies, including implementing and managing Master Data Management and metadata management solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance and management principles, practices, and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, including managing complex data governance challenges.
  • Proficiency in process mapping tools and techniques (e.g., CRUD matrix, workflow models).
  • Expertise in change management methodologies to embed cultural and behavioral shifts.
  • Ability to navigate complex organisational structures and drive change effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Resourceful and deeply understanding how the healthcare and community care industry's function, including data collection, analysis, and utilisation.
