Job summary

MINDEF seeks a data science leader to head a team of analysts conducting long-term, forward-looking research into maritime security threats. You will guide analytics to extract insights from data and identify new data sources for trending insights.

You will apply these insights to secure the maritime domain, engage with national agencies, and drive cross-agency collaboration using innovative methods and technologies.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of data science or analysis-related appointments.
• Experience in a multi-agency or multinational setting preferred.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Knowledge of maritime terrorist threat missions advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of analysts delivering long-term, forward-looking data research on maritime security threats.
• Apply data analytics to exploit existing datasets and discover new data sources for insights.
• Direct practical application of insights to strengthen maritime domain security.
• Proactively engage with national agencies and external entities to align on objectives.

• Ensure team remains current with appropriate technologiesChallenge(s)

What we are looking for:

• At least 6 years of experience in Data science or analysis-related appointments (e.g., Section Head in Data Science or Joint Research Department or equivalent)
• Experience working in a multi-agency or multinational setting is preferred
• Strong leadership skills
• Good knowledge and experience in maritime terrorist threat missions is advantageousOnly shortlisted candidates will be notified.
