The Assistant Director, Corporate Communications is responsible for shaping and implementing the Club’s corporate communications, branding, and public relations strategies. This role steers both strategic planning and operational execution across content development, editorial production, stakeholder messaging, and media engagement. The incumbent will ensure the Club’s brand is consistently represented across all platforms while cultivating strong relationships with members, partners, and the public to enhance the Club’s reputation and visibility.
Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Strategic Communications & Branding
- Develop and implement integrated communications strategies to strengthen the Club’s brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all member-facing and public channels.
- ·Oversee brand governance to ensure visual identity, tone, and positioning are aligned across print, digital, and physical touchpoints.
- Guide the development of core narratives, value propositions, and key messages for different stakeholder groups including members, media, partners, and the public.
- Support senior leadership with speechwriting, talking points, and presentation materials to ensure brand consistency in external engagements.
Editorial Management & Content Strategy
- Lead the editorial direction and full production cycle of the Club’s periodic magazine, including quality control, content development, layout approval, and distribution.
- Conduct regular strategic reviews of the magazine to enhance content relevance, readership engagement, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the creation and deployment of written and visual content across digital platforms (e.g. Club website, kiosks, social media, digital displays, e-newsletters) and ensure alignment with campaign objectives and brand standards.
Public Relations & Media Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media partners to secure positive coverage and amplify the Club’s profile.
- Plan and manage media outreach, including press releases, interviews, media kits, and coverage tracking.
- Manage reputation and crisis communication efforts to protect and uphold the Club’s public image.
- Identify opportunities for thought leadership and high-impact storytelling to position the Club as a forward-looking and member-centric institution.
Marketing & Promotions
- Plan and oversee publicity campaigns to promote Club events, services, and initiatives, including development of advertising and promotional (A&P) content.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and designers to produce marketing collaterals in support of Club activities.
- Manage advertising enquiries for the Club’s publications and work with vendors/agencies to ensure campaign delivery and ROI.
Corporate Partnerships & Stakeholder Communications
- Develop and manage strategic corporate partnerships, including identifying tie-up opportunities, negotiating sponsorship terms, and supporting ceremonial launches and campaigns.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing partners and explore collaborations that bring added value to Club members.
- Coordinate stakeholder communications across key touchpoints to support member engagement and institutional outreach.
Performance Tracking & Market Intelligence
- Evaluate communications effectiveness through member feedback, engagement analytics, and campaign outcomes.
- Monitor competitors’ marketing and publicity activities and gather market intelligence to refine the Club’s communication strategies.
- Archive media and publicity materials to support reporting and continuous improvement efforts.
Team Leadership & Project Oversight
- Lead and supervise a communications team, ensuring high performance, creativity, and alignment with Club objectives.
- Manage external vendors and agencies to deliver quality work within scope, timeline, and budget.
- Oversee communications budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
Other Responsibilities
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the General Manager, including support for major Club-wide events, crisis response, and cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in corporate communications, branding, PR, or marketing roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Skills:
- Strong branding, PR, and messaging development capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across various formats.
- Experience in managing media, corporate partners, and stakeholder communications.
- Familiarity with content management systems, analytics tools, and marketing platforms.
