The Chinese Executive Programme team, part of the ASEAN & China Programmes Office at Nanyang Business School, is committed to providing comprehensive training solutions. These solutions (Executive Programmes) aim to accelerate clients’ internationalization, empower talent and leadership development, and address cross-cultural and geopolitical challenges effectively.
The candidate drives business development, builds strategic relationships with corporations, and expand the team’s presence in key China markets (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou). The candidate will contribute to the revenue growth for the China Programmes Office.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Business Development and Market Expansion
Lead business development strategy across the greater China region that aligns with the school’s strategic goals
Identify and engage with potential corporate and university partners
Build strong relationship with key stakeholders, and find mutually beneficial ways of collaboration
Attend industry events, conferences, and meetings to build relationships and promote the Chinese Executive Programmes
Financial Accountability
Set and meet annual revenue and profit targets and individual programme budgets
Ensure that all programme fees received are accurately accounted for and invoices related to promotional events are processed in a timely manner, and that corporate policies are adhered to
Client Relationship Management
Proactively engage and maintain relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business and referrals
Develop proposals for clients to meet their training requirements
Arrange and participate in internal and external client meetings/debriefs to identify evolving training needs
Programme Design Input and Alignment
Work closely with academic programme director and faculty members to align offerings with market trends and client needs.
Provide input on new programme development to address emerging topics like internationalization, leadership, and geopolitical challenges.
Collaboration and team leadership
Act as a bridge between the school and partner organisations, ensuring smooth communication and alignment
Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as PACE, OFIN, LSO, One-stop, operation teams to ensure smooth and professional delivery of programmes
Lead, mentor, and guide junior team members involved in business development efforts.
Key competencies and qualification requirements:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience
Candidates with prior work experience in business consultancies, as well as organisations that provide L&D/ Executive Development would be preferred
Proven track record of business development in past working experiences including internal and external successful collaborative experience would be an added advantage
Knowledge and application of MS Office suite with a good level of proficiency
Chinese language proficiency, for communications with Chinese counterparts and participants
Good understanding of Chinese culture and China's business environment
Familiarity with market trends in executive education, leadership development, and internationalization
Ability to interact with people of varying levels and backgrounds
Analytical and thorough in his/her thought-process
