Assistant Commercial Manager / Commercial Manager

How you can make your mark

Make your mark by being part of a team that drives success and innovation in the marine services industry. In this pivotal position, you will establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, agents, and intermediaries. You will be responsible for the acquisition, negotiation, administration, development, and implementation of contracts, aiming to optimize revenue and bolster Boskalis' market position.

We are looking for a dynamic individual for the role of either assistant commercial manager or commercial manager, depending on your qualifications.

Your responsibilities as assistant commercial manager/ commercial manager (includes but is not limited to):

  • Identify, analyze, develop, and advise on new business opportunities within the designated business unit or department, while maintaining relationships with clients to promote services and optimize satisfaction.
  • Initiate, develop, and execute account management plans for key accounts in the target market, ensuring commercial information is accurately inputted into databases to enhance sales potential.
  • Negotiate and close contracts following commercial and legal procedures, and draft contracts and arbitrations for subcontractors within budget frameworks to maximize returns.
  • Support the commercial management of projects by monitoring budgets, identifying risks and deviations, and optimizing financial results.
  • Report on KPIs for management, proposing actions to achieve commercial objectives.

Your qualities

You can make your mark as assistant commercial manager/ commercial manager if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years of commercial experience, especially in multicultural and diverse team settings.
  • Understanding of maritime projects, with strong commercial acumen and tendering skills aimed at closing contracts.
  • Excellent English proficiency, with an ability to work independently and demonstrate hard work and intellectual capacity.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Self-driven with a strong ability to adapt and thrive in a commercial environment.
